Derek Cassidy is promoted to the role of Associate Director. Since joining Lafferty in late 2021, Derek has worked with many of our key clients from Hibernia REG, Rohan Project Management, DB Schenker, and BCP Capital on some of our largest projects. Derek began his Lafferty journey leading out the delivery of Southwest Business Park following a planning grant and Derek continues to engage with the Client on their future requirements. Derek then transferred to Harcourt Square leading the construction stage delivery of this large commercial office with the Lafferty Team. In parallel, Derek also delivered a high-end residential project in Co. Louth for the Goodman family. More recently Derek has taken over the lead role on the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street. This is a challenging project due to its refurbishment nature and Derek has built a trusted relationship with the Client, Design Team, and Contractor improving the culture and relations on the project. Derek is also involved with DB Schenker an important logistical project for the business. 

Derek continues to be very active in CIOB and is assisting Lafferty employees to achieve their MCIOB Chartered accreditation and has recently handed over the chair of the CIOB to the new incoming Chairperson. During Derek’s time as chair, he was an ambassador for Lafferty. Derek has also greatly supported the business in promoting and delivering the graduate program earlier in the year.

Orla Weir is promoted to the role of Senior Project Manager. Orla joined Lafferty in 2020 after returning from Australia where she worked in a similar consulting project management role. During her time with Lafferty, Orla has successfully led and delivered various projects across numerous sectors, including multiple fit-outs for Grant Thornton, Matheson, and an industrial manufacturing and logistics facility for Doterra. Orla has demonstrated an ability to develop and foster deep and lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and peers making her a key member of the team, during her time at Lafferty, she has developed a rounded understanding across all stages of the development process inclusive of planning, procurement, and construction delivery.

Mila Lumbreras is promoted to the role of Project Manager. Mila is a Civil Engineer with 5 years of consultancy experience prior to Lafferty. Since joining us in early 2022, she has worked with some of our key clients from Falcon AM to LinkedIn and Lioncor / Ronan Group. Mila worked on the team that successfully delivered planning in Blanchardstown for 1,300 apartments as well as being a key member of the Glass Bottle team for the past year which has secured planning for 900 units and commenced construction on site across two phases. Mila has also supported the Glass Bottle Infrastructure & Masterplan team for a number of months and has recently moved on to support the delivery of the 160,000 sq ft fit-out for LinkedIn in Wilton Place. Mila has built up trusted relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients alike and has taken on a lead role in many aspects of her work which make her a key member of the Lafferty team.
