CIOB Student Challenge
Ireland 2022

Some of our team at Lafferty are members of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). CIOB Chartered Membership stands for competence, ethical value, and the highest levels of professionalism in built environments across the world. The CIOB are an influential professional body for leadership and construction management. Their vision and values around the built environment align closely with ours in Lafferty.

Lafferty’s Derek Cassidy is Chairman of the CIOB Dublin Hub committee, and he brought the opportunity to sponsor the Student Challenge Ireland 2022 initiative to us. We jumped at the opportunity to support students in this challenge!

The CIOB Dublin Hub committee represents CIOB members living in the Republic of Ireland. The hub has a role in the management, leadership, education, and development of members, guiding and providing opportunities for them as they embark on their careers. The committee engage with policy makers in the industry and in Government to ensure that the right skills, talent, and behaviours are nurtured, and that our environment is protected through more energy-efficient buildings and less-wasteful construction practices.

The Hub committee support members, provide educational and continuing professional development opportunities. They also organise annual events such as the CIOB Ireland Awards, Chartered Member Graduation Ceremonies and of course the CIOB Student Challenge. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for future leader of our industry to demonstrate their ability and potential.

Lafferty are sponsoring the challenge in March 2022. We are already looking forward to following closely and seeing who shines through as the winner. We are positive that the future of Ireland’s built environment is looking bright, and that these students will demonstrate that in abundance on the day.

We at Lafferty wish all participants the best of luck on the day!
