Lafferty project managed the redevelopment of the Grandstand at the Curragh racecourse to achieve a world-class facility for the sport.
For the Curragh racecourse, the client’s goal was to create a facility that would be world-class for the sport and commensurate with the importance of the bloodstock industry in Ireland. A design competition led to the appointment of the Design Team, and the winning design provided a striking landmark building visible from across Curragh planes.
As part of the redevelopment, the Queen’s Room, a structure protected by the National Park Service, was relocated. Facilities include public areas of the highest quality with unobstructed views of the racetrack.
